FAQs

Questions for Clients

No, there are no contracts to sign. However there is a Service Agreement required by the State of Georgia that describes your rights as a client, and defines our services and fees before you begin service. This agreement will describe the service to be delivered and days and the hours are customized to meet your needs. Service may be cancelled at any time without penalties or fees.
Yes, all of our caregivers are employees of Angel Companions.
Angel Companions utilizes State-of-the-Art technology to accurately track your hours of service and to ensure accurate historical information about the level of services and which caregiver provided them. All information is secure and backed up on a daily basis.

When our caregiver arrives at your residence, they will be required to log-in and log-out through your home telephone by calling a toll free number. This dynamically captures the time of services so there is never a dispute of when the service began or ended. More importantly, we are notified when a caregiver has not logged in as scheduled. This will signal us to make immediate contact with the caregiver and you to ensure the caregivers have arrived as scheduled, or to make scheduling adjustments as necessary.

Absolutely. Our Telephony system is seamlessly integrated with our Billing system and Healthcare database to ensure the integrity of your information. Our Healthcare system tracks and notifies us when our caregivers CNA licenses need to be renewed with the State of Georgia, as well as notifying us when they have to be retested for TB, CPR and annual In-Service training.

Questions for Caregivers

Angel Companions will be responsible for withholding and remitting State and Federal Income tax, Federal Unemployment tax, Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes on behalf of the caregivers we provide.

If the caregiver you may select is not a covered employee of the Home Care Agency, or if you obtain such person directly on your own, that caregiver may be considered your employee, and you may be responsible for withholding and reporting State and Federal Income tax, Federal Unemployment tax, Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes on behalf of that caregiver going back to the time of first employment.

We will be responsible for paying workers’ compensation insurance to cover our caregiver in the event of an accident or injury on the job. If the caregiver is not covered under workers’ compensation, and your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance does not cover any injury or accident involving the caregiver, you may have personally liability. This is an important benefit provided by Angel Companions for you to consider and eliminates another potential liability.
Angel Companions maintains general and professional liability insurance covering all of our caregivers in the event of damage to your property or personal injury to the person being cared for. If the Home Care Agency you select, or the caregiver you obtain directly does not maintain general and professional liability insurance, you may have no way of recovering your loss.
